XLerateHealth Named One of 80 Winners of $50,000 SBA Grant

August 5, 2015

XLerateHealth (XLerateHealth.com), a Louisville-based accelerator for early-stage healthcare companies, announces that it has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as one of the 80 winners of the second annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition. The recipients represent 39 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. XLerateHealth was also selected in 2014 as a recipient of the SBA Growth Accelerator Fund, and is one of a handful of accelerators chosen both years. The SBA announced the winners yesterday at the White House Demo Day.

Two Louisville organizations have won $50,000 each from the U.S. Small Business Administration. LVL1 Inc., a hacker and maker space, and XLerateHealth, a health care startup accelerator, secured the grant funds through the Growth Accelerator Fund Competition.

Louisville’s Six Sigma Laboratories first company in XLerateHealth’s 2015 cohort

Six Sigma Laboratories is a health care company headquartered on South Floyd Street and created by pharmacists Sam and Jamie Lee. Its first product is NormaLyte, rehydration salts that are a less expensive (and according to the creators, superior) alternative to Pedialyte.  Read more…

Dapper in Halloween colors, Bob Saunders chairman of XLerateHealth, opened the Demo Day for the first cohort at XLerateHealth.

The event was held in the auditorium of the new Nucleus Building at 300 E. Market St. There were more people than seats at this event – attendees were a veritable who’s who of Louisville’s tech, entrepreneurship and investment communities. Read more…
