David Kennedy is President of MobileMedTek, a medical device company that specializes in cloud-enabled portable neurodiagnostic equipment for monitoring and diagnosing seizure activity caused by epilepsy and related brain disorders.  He is responsible for overseeing product development and day to day operations including anticipated ISO 13485 certification for MobileMedTek’s manufacturing operations and anticipated 510k market clearance for MobileMedTek’s first product in Q4 2016.

Mr. Kennedy is former President of IKOTECH, a bioprocessing equipment provider focused on new product innovation for the emerging cell therapeutics market. While at IKOTECH, Mr. Kennedy has led capital formation and fundraising efforts resulting in over $10M in grant and private debt/equity financing that supported the development of three products. Mr. Kennedy also oversaw IKOTECH’s new product R&D, resulting in the launch of the Hyperflux cell analyzer and garnering IKOTECH a 2012 Vogt Invention and Innovation Award. Mr. Kennedy also provides advisory services to small businesses and related entrepreneurial organizations through Pelorus Consulting.

Previously, Mr. Kennedy specialized in business development, new product engineering, and program management during a 10-year tenure as part of the SHOT team named to the Inc. Magazine Fast 500 list (2001: #251, 2002: #478), Small Business Administration’s Tibbets Award for Excellence (1998, 2002), Indiana Growth 100 (2000, 2001, 2002), Sixth (2000) & Eighth (2001) fastest-growing company in metro Louisville, and Technovision “Vanguard of Technology” award (2000). Mr. Kennedy participated in and oversaw engineering activities for complex life science research equipment flown on two space shuttle missions for NASA (1998, 2001). 

Mr. Kennedy holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and has completed studies at Georgia Tech and Lancaster University (U.K.). Mr. Kennedy specializes in new product innovation that requires the complex integration of diverse engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, chemical, and bio), equipment development requiring regulatory paths, and in business development and strategy for small businesses.
