Craig Russell


A fun and charismatic leader, Craig is a healthcare industry veteran with more than 36 years of senior level experience. His passion for practical innovation and drive for performance inspires others to discover market opportunities and create strategies that produce growth. Craig specializes in uncovering new product and market strategies leveraging his experience from leading seven health management companies in market expansion over the past three decades. He has worked with multi-channel, consumer decision support services that focused on engaging the patient in consumerism with respect to their health and medical care. Health and wellness, shared decision making, condition management, digital and mobile health and their applications in developing and cultivating new business opportunities. Product strategy, B2B alliances, competitive intelligence, revenue development and culture have been a career focus. Prior to joining Centene, Craig served as the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for tele-medicine start-up, Carena. For six years prior to Carena, Craig served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Health Dialog, where he was responsible for a broad range of market-facing and product management initiatives including applied analytics, health and wellness, strategic alliances and consultant relations. Other prior experience President & CEO of CareWise, Inc., and co-founder for Health Decisions International and (Travelers) The Center for Corporate Health. Mr. Russell began his career at Xerox as manager of the health management program. Craig holds a BS in Health Sciences from the University of Maine and MS in Management and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco. He has published numerous articles and is a frequent speaker at national healthcare conferences including U.S. Chamber of Commerce, IHPM, NMHCC and DMAA (CCA).
