Henry Kuehn


Following an early career at Baxter, International, ending up as a division General Manager. Henry Kuehn spent the next 30 years as CEO of venture backed companies in the medical and healthcare industry. Beginning with Smith Laboratories, where guided the company through the FDA approval of a new pharmaceutical product and a successful IPO, he went on to manage companies that include Ryan Medical, Ring Medical, Fischer Imaging, GenDerm Pharmaceuticals, and InX Medical. Each of these was either a start up or floundering enterprise needing significant new direction.

He currently serves on two corporate boards and is an advisor to start up enterprises emerging from the University of Louisville medical center. He is a past trustee of Saint Mary of the Woods College and has served on the national executive committee of the Yale Science and Engineering Association. He is a life trustee and past board chair of the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Other organizations with which he has served are the Graham Foundation for the Advancement of the Fine Arts, the Society of Architectural Historians, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Mr. Kuehn holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (with high honors) from Yale University and received an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business.
